replied: Sometimes you gotta focus on the positive side. My petrol RV6 prado would get 13/100km round town. my new truck, dual cab diesel hilux (2000) nudges just under 10/100km no matter how hard i drive it. I yearn for the days the diesel was cheaper but at 30% more efficient so long as i pick the days diesel like above when it's only 11% more than ULP, I am still 13% in front with the lux. And wow, I should load a picture of the irrigation gear in the back that would have totally buggered up the rear of the prado.
Just persuaded the mother-in-law to buy a Honda Jazz to replace her failing Telstar Ghia. $19,500 drive away auto 5 door hatch. I think with the 1.3L engine that can get 4L/100km on the highway it should hold its value well until the flood of electric cars.
If some noted I put some money (never enough) into LNC shares, I also ought ZZB energy shares cause I thought there was a future with their zinc bromide batteries. Well the shares sort of tanked and moved to the US but I reckon watch that space when they work out how much they can make on producing batteries for electric cars (then of course I'd better buy Zinifex again ....)

We're the same..we sold the Landcruiser at the right time....its cheaper running the navara on diesel then it is the LC on lpg. The week after we sold the lc the price of gas went through the roof!!
we get 10Lt / 100km too so we're stoked!!

Sorry, ZBB Energy shares, I keep getting the acronym mixed up with that band with the beards.
Note, I don't suggest investing in these share, but interesting technology, ie it's fine producing energy from renewable sources, but the storage was always going to be an issue ...

Hi Porl,
I believe we undervalue our natural gas reserves and have been looking to invest. Woodside is an obvious but fully priced stock - heard anything lately.....in gold I have St Barbara and am waiting for my Zinifex to rebound.....cheers,
