Hi All,

I just wonder if there are any recommendations out there for products to stop rust developing in your vehicle panels?
I used to use fish oil years ago which i found to be good except for the smell and cleaning up the drips

A product called Tectyl is good for inside doors and sills. Sprays on like a liqiud gets into all the seams then dries like wax. When you're spraying, mask up the drain holes in your doors to prevent leekage then clean them out afterwards to open the drains again. Wouldn't use it externally eg on the inside of guards or on chassis rails as being a wax it will hold all the sand / salt etc.

Make sure you remove the inner trims in your cargo space and get some down into the insides of the quarter panels and forward into the dog leg (wheel arch just forward of the rear wheels). Also worth giving your barn doors a hit aswell.

I got a brouchure from Couplertec at Brisbane car Show recently.
Like all brouchures it sounds pretty impressive.
Also they document a long list of major users (Mining companies and Governemnts, Councils etc) which also adds some support for their product.
Are there any users of Couplertec out there who have had theirs fitted for a while and can vouch for its success??

I think (and willing to be corrected if I'm wrong) that all of the Jackaroo's body panels are galvanised before painting - so that's one extra defence against rust for you.
